tammykennedaleIt’s another Busy Mom! I try to feature tips from other busy moms each week to help remind us all we there is no such thing as ‘perfect’, but to instead strive for ‘real’.

Tammy Jones is a mother and the owner of A Mom Entrepreneur (one of the networking groups I belong to) and  A Single Rose .

How do you keep your children’s schedules together ?
My children are both in college now, but we basically used a big calendar on the kitchen wall.

Do you use a particular day planner ?
No.  I use Microsoft Outlook to keep track of upcoming business interviews, meetings and appointments.  I also use it for personal stuff to, like: my husband and kids activities, doctor appointments and family gatherings.

Do you own a blackberry?

No, but everybody tells me I need to get one.

What is your most used ‘time saving tip’ when it comes to running your house?
I don’t have one.  Can you help me with that? J  I can’t get any help from kids or husband, so a lot of things go undone.

Do you have a favourite quick meal for your family?
We call it Jean’s special.  Named after my mother-in-law.

abbieschocolatechipcookies1Abbie is sharing her latest cookie masterpiece! Adapted from Lisa’s Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe. Abbie’s Chocolate Chips cookies are mmmm.  If you look below you will even see that her Brother even offered to HUG her for making them !

2 eggs
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 teaspoons Vanilla
1 cup Golden Crisco

In another bowl mix:
2 1/3 cups unsifted of flour
1 tsp salt
1tsp baking soda
1/2 package of chocolate chips

Slowly add dry mixture to wet while blending. Drop in spoonfulls onto cookie sheet.

Bake for 7-8 minutes at 350 degrees

A busy mom doesn’t always have chocolate chips in her family’s kitchen cupboard. So this evening we made some busy mom Peanut Butter Oatmeal cookies.

busymomcookies2They turned out great – though I had to turn the temp down a little and we cooked them for 9 minutes.

1 1/2 c. flour
3/4 c. soft butter
1/4 c. peanut butter
2 eggs
3 c. oatmeal
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. sugar
1 c. packed brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix all ingredients together. Drop by spoon onto lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Makes 2 dozen
